![]() Krall is a very angry “beekeeper” of sorts. Enterprise isn't headed for somewhere no man has been before, (they think they are) but darn few of 'em! On this mission to rescue the crew of another planet the request of their captain, the U.S.S. And Idris Elba as Krall is as badass an alien foe as any that ever crossed paths with our Federation heroes. Sofia Boutellais is all intensity and skill as Jayla, the alien warrior who saves Spock and Bones. ![]() And he'll kill you too - in a humorous kind of way. Leonard “Bones” McCoy who has so many great lines in this film … he kills it. (for Tiberius) Kirk, Zachary Quinto is highly fascinating as Spock, and Karl Urban as Dr. In addition to Pegg reprising his role as Scotty, Chris Pine is still divine as Capt. See, it's the personalities of these characters that have endeared them to so many of us. And speaking of perfect, these actors actually look as though they could have been the younger versions of the original cast – and they have the mannerisms of the original beloved characters. Kirk and Spock,“Bones” McCoy the doc, and Spock, Scotty and Kirk … everyone really, is perfect. ![]() The great one line “banter” between Capt. Example: Doc ”Bones” to Kirk: “Damn it Jim! I'm a doctor not a pilot! (or fill in whatever else Kirk is asking Bones to do that has nothing whatsoever to do with medicine) Spock's famed “highly illogical” and “fascinating.” Writers Simon Pegg (returning in the role of Montgomery “Scotty” Scott) and Doug Jung truly captured the personalities of the characters in the dialogue, even going so far as to use phraseology the TV series characters were known for. No true Trekkie would answer anything but YES to those questions (from the TV intro), and well they should, for the 13 th installment in the Star Trek franchise and third in this series,“Star Trek Beyond” is out of this world - but then, you could have guessed that, right?! The newly released “Star Trek Beyond” has our names written all over it - actually, it will be enjoyed by everyone who sees it, but those of us who are attached, shall we say, to the crew of the Starship Enterprise, this movie is like coming home - sort of. Trekkies! Are you ready to explore more strange new worlds? Ready to join the crew of the Starship Enterprise as they seek out new life and civilizations?
